Unprecedented Demand

The Treasure Valley is among the fastest growing areas in the U.S. and the Children's Museum of Idaho is experiencing phenomenal growth. As the only non-profit children’s museum in Southwest Idaho, the museum currently serves more than 100,000 visitors annually with thirty-five unique hands-on interactive exhibits and extensive programming for young children ages 1-9.

The museum opened in late 2018 and quickly became a community resource for children, families and schools as people learned the value of creating an educational space for young children where play is featured as the gateway to learning.

There is now an overwhelming need to expand as the museum is often at capacity.  The new space will add exhibits to ensure that creative, young minds are challenged NOW and IN THE FUTURE.  We invite you to join this grass-roots campaign and "Reach for the Stars" as we remember that today’s children are the future of tomorrow.

Growing with a purpose

The expanding population of the Treasure Valley, ongoing community support, and the popularity of our exhibits means that the museum is often at capacity. To ensure that we can serve current and future visitors, we are undertaking this campaign to increase exhibits, add programming, and create space for larger gatherings.

The museum is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation without city, state or federal funding. In order to keep admission prices affordable, we depend upon contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations that value early childhood education. Admission does not cover the cost to operate and with your generous donation, we will be able to:

  • Increase our interactive educational exhibit space by 50%
  • Add exciting new exhibits including a planetarium, multi-purpose room with stage, and five new galleries
  • Create space for large groups, such as field trips, which the museum cannot currently accommodate
  • Continue to be a community hub for young children to dream, learn, and discover
